Wall of Fame 2025
Awarded to Benita Reno
What a lucky day it was for Baton Rouge Chorus when Benita Reno decided to visit a rehearsal! She has only been a member for 2.5 years now, but we don’t know what we’d do without her! Benita is our baritone section leader and also our Membership Coordinator. She is always on the search for interested singers and is directly responsible for bringing in several of our newest members. And when we find it necessary to have extra rehearsals, meetings or parties, Benita is quick to open her beautiful home for any gatherings needed!Benita is a ball of energy and enjoys pickle ball, Pilates, morning walks, and Taekwondo (she’s a black belt!). She is very involved in the basketball and bowling leagues for special needs adults. Benita also sings in the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra Choir. Her husband of 45 years, Jimmy, passed away a few years ago, but she is a very devoted mother to Ashley and Damon, and grandmother to two very active boys, Brooks and Hayes. It is all clearly keeping her young!
Thank you, Benita, for all that you do for our chorus! You are the perfect choice as our 2025 Wall of Fame recipient!

Dr. Wendy Waguespack is our singing eye doctor! She has been a member of Baton Rouge Chorus for seventeen years. She sings Lead and is a very quick study who can always be relied upon to know the music. Dependable as well as talented, she has served as one of our choreographers in the past. Wendy is generous with her time and her resources as she often rearranges her busy professional schedule to make our many performances. Wendy sings lead for the FaLaLas quartet and was the lead for the former Just Clicked! quartet. As the busy founder and owner of Dr. Wendy Waguespack & Associates practice in Baton Rouge, Wendy enjoys the outlet that this hobby offers her. She is also an avid LSU fan and mother to son, Justin.
We could SEE CLEARLY that Wendy Waguespack was the perfect choice for our 2024 Wall of Fame recipient!
Wall of Fame 2023
Awarded to Sherry Barron
Sherry is the new director of Baton Rouge Chorus. She is brand new to Sweet Adelines, but certainly not new to the singing world! She is the founder and Artistic Director of the Academy for Cultivating Creative Arts, the Baton Rouge Homeschool Choirs, and the former West Feliciana Parish Children’s Chorus. She also maintains a private piano studio and holds certification in Music/Early and Middle Childhood from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.
While Sherry hasn’t had years of service to Sweet Adelines, Region10, or even our chorus, without her leadership, creativity, and guidance, Baton Rouge Chorus’s sixty-three year old charter might have disbanded in the aftermath of the Covid days! She has rejuvenated our chorus and put us on a path to growth in both membership and vocal performance. We are excited about the future under Sherry’s leadership!
Sherry and her husband, Brian, are heavily involved with many different choirs, bands, and singing groups around Baton Rouge and dote on their rescue, Mr. Kitty.
Baton Rouge Chorus is very proud to name Sherry Barron as our our 2023 Wall of Fame recipient!

Cindy has been a member of Baton Rouge Chorus since 2015. She has always stepped up when we've been in need and seems to find a way to include the chorus in her very full and busy life. She is currently serving as the Communications Coordinator on our Management Team. As an IT professional by trade, Cindy made it possible for the chorus to continue rehearsals and meetings via Zoom when necessary, and she continues to keep our website updated and easy to use.Having no formal musical training, Cindy embraces all of the educational opportunities that singing with Sweet Adelines brings. She has a beautiful voice and sings Lead with Baton Rouge Chorus. Cindy will say she prefers to be in the background, but we know that she is a diva at heart!
Cindy and her husband, Ken, have raised two sons and are just now experiencing the empty-nest phase of their lives. They are both still working and also are deeply involved with their church. We appreciate Cindy more than she knows.
